Faint Young Sun Paradox

Early in the evolution of Earth, Sol’s output is predicted by astronomical theory to have been roughly 70% of the present day intensity. That should have frozen any oceans. And yet evidence for life-nourishing liquid water is present in the earliest terrestrial rocks almost 4 billion years old.
