Thanks to Social Media and the burgeoning Network of Things, today’s atemporal iconography is in danger of simply becoming a continuous content-feed. This snowballing mélange of cultural output is rapidly turning into an any-media wallpaper.

In this digital context the author becomes the one who uploads and shares a work first. The one who gets likes and adds followers. Other similar material is relegated to the status of repetition and imitation. Just being online becomes a creative act.

I agree with your explanation. Some online artists are seemingly addicted to "likes" and followers. :))
