Ripple
The glossy white interior and the highly polished mirrored exterior compliment each other by the way the light plays on their surfaces.
Hurst’s practice previously focused on more linear and angular work, starting EX-NOVO by experimenting with sheets of paper. In “Ripple”, the artist cut the pipes into various sizes and shapes, the “stock” parts for the creation of his work.
Through the act of joining these parts together, the form finds itself progressively, instead of subsiding to a pre-determined shape.
