Utopias (IRL/URL)

Utopias (IRL/URL) is an interactive installation that asks questions about the Post-Internet world and the cyborg body, the visibility / invisibility of women and women’s sexuality in online / offline spheres, the early feminist hopes of the internet as a genderless space, and women’s bodies as a site for the contestation of these fantasies. Comprising of neon sculpture, hand-cast cement, living plants and coded arduino control systems, the cyborg bodies flicker and shift, reflecting the ever-developing Post-Internet relationship of body to nature, and human to machine.
