Everyone goes through this phase at some point

In the short story that introduces to the work Everyone goes through this phase at some point (2017), the hairdryers are seen as the last tools capable of stopping an invasion of simulacra in the form of balloon-like inflated smiley emojis – a metaphor for our fragile psychological balance threatened by anxiety and frustration resulting from daily migration on a multitude of platforms, populated by crowds of personal avatars each claiming their own amount of attention. But in a unexpected twist they are hacked as megaphones from which an unusual litany starts spreading out. The litany, which is revealed to be the song Bring Me to Life performed by the voice of Bonzi Buddy, aims to evoke the recovery of empathy, a long lost feeling in the rubble of late advanced capitalism.
