The Trumpet's Wondrous Call Sounding

The imagery explores metaphoric and actual struggle through both the figurative and the abstract in a Neo–Expressionist style. Raw linen, by its nature and history of use in Modernist décor, suggests: refinement; purity; taste; elegance; high cultural status, and serene neutrality. The speed and urgency of these works is also a nod to automatic drawing and its investment in Freudian free association, whilst the binary competitors appear to be evenly matched implying that their struggle is never ending.
