Oval forest 7

With rhythmic incisions on the reverse side of the paper, the author recurrently revisits the forest as alchemy and symbolic pursuit.
Many perceive this work as sap, blood, skin and paper, scar or tribal tattoo.
The forest evokes claustrophobia and melancholy as it eludes inclusion by the observer due to the hermetic disposition of the drawings.
The two drawings presented here belong to a series in which the author seeks immersion of the observer in the forest as if it was seen through a monocle.
