POLAROID

I gave full freedom to the characters portrayed to express themselves.
They could choose the pose, the style. They could change the final work as they please. The only indication given was to represent themselves.
In this way I got not only the outward image of this experience in Belgium, but a living experience made of emotions, character, spirit. Each polaroid has an own aura, a soul, showing the viewer its own personality.
People use to take picture of their holiday, to remember a special occasion, so I did.
I chose the polaroid format to emphasize the character of remembrance.
I also chose the Polaroid size to reflect on the theme of fiction and reality, the same that exist between portrait and instant photo.
This album of memories will not show me just the outward of this experience, but it will contains a piece of the person I met.
For me to live the city is above all living people and these "Polaroid" are evidence.
