Others

Others

“Others” is a project in which I interrogated my self on the relationship man - cities. It all began by examining the definition of non-place, by Marc Augé in 1992, defining this I immediately found it not actual and that prompted me to do a search about modern society. This is a society strongly influenced by smartphones and digital identities, which makes the man alienated from his real and physical nature, transporting it in a virtual reality.

This translocation from one reality to another means that all that was primarily real becomes virtual. A common place, a subway, the city itself, everything becomes virtual and then everything becomes a non-place. The city becomes a non-place.

But my research did not stop here because also the communication suffers about it because it takes a new form as well. A communication 2.0, a silent communication (Web is mostly used to write and the people, between them, no longer communicate in the traditional way) and virtual, not real then.

With the realization of this project I would like, therefore, that you reflect about what we are becoming and about who we really are in relation to others, but also, and above all, in relation to the places where we live and where we live on a daily basis.
