Sposa

Sposa

Sposa recalls the catholic social fabric of the 1970s, the dress age, when the Italian women had been forced to pass through three essential life conditions: Virgin, Bride and Mother.

The work with a romantic atmosphere recalls that rite of passage which is marriage, where the stage of virgin becomes that of mother. The wedding dress’s image is empty, not worn, and represents the purity of virginity and also the desire to be a mother as fast as possible. The white wedding dress is a symbol of the Virgin Mary and recollects about that Italian tradition offering to the Virgin a wedding dress to beg a fertile marriage.
