A source of light

I have deliberately avoided using the background to give the impression of lightness and clarity; this also reduces the theme „Trees“ to a graphic but nevertheless picturesque level. In this way I attain a certain floating effect and lightness in the pictures. To achieve this style I’ve explored the art of Egon Schiele and the woodcuts of Albrecht Dȕrer. The intention to develop transparency is clearly recognisable in the way in which the gradual reduction of the dark background has been achieved.
My pictures are painted exclusively on handcrafted paper. I like working with unique materials in oder to create unusual effects. Thereby each of my pieces are exceptional individualistic works of art.
