SKIN ARCHITECTURE
theme proposed SKIN has been very strong for the duo D’ORTA-CIRESOLA, who research "skin", not related to Man but rather to the places it inhabits: the architectural buildings.
Carlo D'Orta, as pointed out by Valerio Dehò in his critical essay, he understood how photography is fundamental to analyze the complexity, especially to decompose it in a double operation: deconstruction of the image emotions and deconstruction of the very same emotions through the installation key . Thus the (S)composition project was born, which consists in the architectural photographs of Carlo D'Orta transliterated by Andrea Ciresola on a steel plate, then cut according to the design of the architecture, painted with hyper-realistic technique to retrieve the colorfulness of photographs (the skin ...), curved and recomposed according to a new three-dimensional pattern.
The project documents indeed the process of an architectural tridimensionality first flattened and compressed according to the photographic technique of Carlo D'Orta, then further reduced to bi-dimensionality on photo printing before and later on the steel plate, and finally brought to a new third- dimension where the value of the skin architecture remains unchanged.
