Contemplating A Life Gone By

I saw these two elderly ladies enjoying a coffee in my local shopping mall. They were observing people passing by, in the same manner they would observe their lifes passing by.
The contours & lines on their skin made them unique. I wondered what they had experienced during their time on earth and how those experiences had shaped the lines that now cover their bodies. Skin may be impervious yet its barrier is still permeable.
