The delicate art of making love

Sex has so many nuances - from the pornographic to the erotic from the banal to the spiritually uplifting. Like many human experiences, it's tinged with guilt, shame, morality - but it's a base and simple instinct, that 99% of the world partakes in. Yet we shroud it in mystery and TABOO. It can also be a delicate and sensitive experience, and as part of my Mapping the Human Body project I have been fortunate to be allowed to not only witness the private lovemaking of couples, but to be allowed to photograph and record those moments that were sometimes erotic, sometimes awkward and sometimes just plain funny. This is a small selection from a group of very generous and open-minded people, who gave of themselves freely - for the camera.
