Flesh and stone that overlap and penetrate. The stone is that of 'Pedra Ringadora' big block of marble from Verona whose dialect name literally means “Haranguing Stone”.
Documented in Piazza Grande in Modena from sec. Thirteenth, it was used as a podium for the assemblies of the people, for the punishment of thieves and criminals and exposures of unidentified dead.
In a rainy day, the stone has turned my eyes in the body ... a body of suffering, of torture, of death; as if all the bodies of past centuries, which were on that stone, showed their passage. Hardness and brittleness. Stone, skin and body.
