embrace

Digital Photography, Human figure, Mixed technique, 12x10x2cm
An encaustic wax study of a couple in embrace. The process involves a layering of colored bees wax mixed with damar resin. It has been painted and carved and worked onto a prepared wood surface there by creating translucence and depth in the medium.

This encaustic wax is a new medium for me. It is in between two and three dimensional - painting and sculpting at the same time! The translucence and layering of the wax is an exacting and interesting process.

Wonderfull piece:the sun ,with its light power,is the main player and it compells all the other players (the body, the clothes, the shoes, the glasses...)to answer to its power with a great vitality .A painting full of light and reach of life!

A new piece - sunbather - It starts from a Polaroid photo, moving the emulsion, blending colors, moving lines, creating texture and mood - thank you for viewing

Thank you for looking and responding with real thought. I raised 3 children and have been a massage therapist for 20 years. Calm is a big part of what I did. Thank you for that affirmation. Now, finally, I give myself completely to my art!

Good Morning Beth! I had the chance to go to your site this morning to browse a bit. Very interesting techniques you use! Very intricate! I especially love the subtlety of this painting. From where the wind blows - Wonderful surprise for the eye!! Your deep love of land and nature seems to come through all of your paintings! A blanket of calm slowly wraps around when lingering on your work. I love 'Lull!' A great pleasure! Thank you!
