Origins
This body of work is about beginnings and endings, life and death. I photograph subjects that are quiet, yet evoke emotional intensity to illustrate the passing of time. It is about securing the people and moments that have given shape to my life through images. Equally, it is about the awareness of how an image marks the last vestige of time: moments created and disintegrated at the same utterance.
Making photographs allows me to contextualize my faith. These images are intended to provoke the viewer to search and feel out the fleeting and search for their foundation. My intention is to make images that compel the viewer and deepen his or her own personal inquiry by looking intently and intimately for one’s personal and familial symbols.
