Crystallization of an Auroral Display
Acrylic on Canvas. This painting represents me and my concept to transform my fictional imaginations into reality. My style is to represent the non-representational abstract form of art.
By weaving two opposite styles into one, I make abstract art the subject itself. My design concept is to mix my roots of Filipino culture which uses sticks and bamboo to create native and traditional houses. Inspired from this, I use lines to create figure and motion with the western culture and their style of art by applying impasto technique with acrylic on my canvas to set the mood of my artworks.
This painting is a depiction of an Aurora Borealis crystallizing into solid form. It is a fictional event that happens in my mind. As light can only be seen and can not be captured, I painted my desire to capture a beautiful projecting light into my own hands.
