This latest project is based on east European iconic tradition of picturing Madonnas, project is referring to the history of figurative portraits as well as the iconic Christian tradition of picturing woman as Saint.
In my series I am talking about femininity in historical and political context. The women I picture are suffering from illnesses, experiencing violence, discrimination, having to run away as a refugee or even having to deal with the cultural clichés.
This non – beauty icons are relating to the history of women, who are living in countries dominated by any extremism. The project is trying to break the stereotypical beauty standards of the female character.


My self – staged portraits are the series that discuss the position of women and their identity.
