Contrasto

Through an artistic filter I intend to examine faces of Africa, a contemporary Africa that has reached our shores.
Is the mounting death-toll just a statistic?
In contrast I want to convey a Beauty that looks straight into our eyes.
Before commencing on their often desperate quest to reach Europe, they had a life and a culture that we have no experience or understanding of.
By giving a futuristic skin to the child happily playing among the ruins I imagine a future where coexistence is possible.
