In partnership with The Podium Lounge 2014 at Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, a key highlight of the 2014 Singapore Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix
This exhibition brings the world of Formula 1 and the art world together with a unique opportunity to represent the atmosphere, speed, courage and adrenalin of Formula 1 and its drivers through abstract art. The fact that Singapore’s Grand Prix takes place at night is a recurring theme in many of the paintings.
The paintings explore, on the one hand, the effect that speeding cars in a myriad of colours with bright floodlights set against a night sky have on the onlooker, how all this is perceived in a moment captured in time. On the other hand they explore the psyche of the drivers, their courage, immense focus and pumping adrenalin coursing through their minds and bodies. A generous use of both vibrant primary and more complex colours, and the use of high gloss varnish, celebrates the kaleidoscopic, glittering world of Formula 1.
