Dear Dorothy

Dear Dorothy

My Grandma had a stroke 2 years ago, this effected her memory and has left her suffering from dementia. Our family life has changed dramatically because of this; my Grandma now lives with us and my Mum is her full time carer. Compromises occur on a daily basis; a familiar family issue to many in the modern day.

I have carefully selected a photograph found from many throughout her life, where no one alive or of able mind is captured. I have then talked to my Grandma, asking what happened in the image to base a new portrait of her around this.
Therefore, there is no one that knows if this memory is true or false, it could be that I have reproduced a portrait of her based on a memory that has not yet been made, bringing this to life through a narrative of a potentially false memory.

For this photograph she just said, "Everything was white, I like white it's my favourite colour."
