Copper Horses

Copper Horses

This is a selection from the series “Copper Horses” which was commissioned for The 16th Bradford Fellowship in Photography at the National Media Museum, Bradford, England.

Until I was 8, I imagined my father worked as a superhero. He would come home from work, exhausted and smelling awful. I started to wonder what it really was he did all day? "Copper Horses" is a reflection on the truth of my father´s job as a precision borer in Reyrolles Factory, and the memory of my image of him as a young boy. I found the machine he operated for his whole working life and took it apart, looking for the man he was and the father I knew at eight years old.
