I present to you the first painting of the series "THE IRRIVERENTS".
"Drunk Mercy" 2014, oil on canvas, cm 70 x 100.
Starting from the Michelangelo's Pietà, we have here a Christ personified but not dead, just sleeping.
It is a Christ disappointed at the continued estrangement from the church, offended by the misuse of his name they do, and betrayed by the various scandals within his church. A Christ who looks for a bit of peace in a few glasses of wine.
