Tom (Waterbabies Series)

Painting, Abstract informal, Oil, 122x61x4.5cm
My current work explores aspects of human relationships: what keeps people together and what drives them apart; what relationships do we choose to keep and which do we choose to break?.

I am interested in why cognitive intelligence is valued more highly in our society than emotional intelligence; and in our need to validate our experience of the world through the acquisition of facts.

Imagery from nature is used to symbolise repeating themes of commitment, separation and loss. These themes are brought together to question approaches to inter-personal as well as intrapersonal relationships. The power of the possibility of rejection is key to us all, and can make us too dependent on each other, or purposefully isolated.

First I was attracted to your work and to the fact that it has different parts, as in my works...
Then, I began to read and it is amazing how we both deal exactly with the same issues.
Please read my profile, I am really interested in your opinion
