Il giovane rottame 1972 - tela emulsionata dal film super 8 omonimo
Narrator A. Granchi.
Action A. Granchi, M.C. Rastrelli, D. Padovani.
Baroque music of Giuseppe Torelli and Baldassarre Galuppi with improvised sound interventions by A. Granchi and R. Ranaldi.
Based on the story by A. Granchi in the form of biography parodied (1971), the film traces and uses, on the edge of a sharp and sometimes bitter irony, that collection of heterogeneous materials, documents, images, objects that represent the sediment of a life starting from childhood. The key work is in the reversal of the natural youth-old age, in the paroxysmal and comic-pathetic exorcism of "passing time" and the paradox of a "career" in which progressively backward in the name of ideals and conventional misleading successful and health, the protagonist loses pieces of himself, accepts and turns until the epilogue of rhetorical purpose. In the film, in which it acts the same author, are used as the object works "Cure intelligent and logical" display at the personal exposure of Andrea Granchi with the same title of the film at the Gallery of Florence Flori (January 1972) in which the work was presented for the first time and projected in a continuous cycle, as well as numerous photographs retouched by hand and manipulated to "single frame" directly during shooting.
The original version had an initial pre-titles of pure improvisation music (Granchi and Ranaldi on trumpet and sax) lost during a screening of the film at the Museo Civico di Livorno (1974) and was not fixed.
The original is retained by the author. The film has been poured (Centro Pecci 2004) on DVD.
