ANNIVERSARY
This child is set in front of a renaissance-style hillside landscape.
This new work wants to be seen as a consideration about the human inability of giving sense to its own errors (here vauge recollection of World War 1) and its surprising capability of getting used to a nihilistic/consumeristic way of life.
In this work of mine there's a very short distance between body and human nature;
ANNIVERSARY visualizes the fear of the future in the evolution of our civilisation; an act of war which become almost a ritual event selecting and changing mankind in a sort of hybrid among a tool, an animal and something unknown.
I used ceramic for the life-size sculpture, a 90 x70cm picture (forex support)
