man fragt: woher kommt das licht? und man antwortet: aus der finsternis!

'woher kommt das licht' was made to measure an improvisation by two members of 'the new clara schumann band'. the video is made of some long shots taken during a nightly trainride. the images with dots and stripes of streetlights, illuminated buildings and traffic along the line were horizontally and vertically cross-layered and processed, rendered and again cross-layered in the same directions, processed and rendered. the resulting video is also a pre-study for a future video-installation.
