L'Enigma di Gugliemo Tell - The Enigma of William Tell

L'Enigma di Gugliemo Tell - The Enigma of William Tell

Tribute to Salvador Dalì.
The painting was presented in Paris in the herbst of 1933, sparked the ire of André Breton who had even the intention of damaging the painting, fortunately hung very high and out of his reach.
What angered the surrealistic, of Marxistic faith, was the fact the the character of W.Tell, the painter had given the face of Lenin, and especially that he had represented the bare buttocks, one of which is huge and supported by a forked stick.
W.Tell represents the Dalì's father, figure authoritarian and abusive; as Cronus, who devoured his children, in power and against which himself had to rebel.
More particularly impressive is the microscopic cradle with a baby inside, threatening that the shod foot with sandal could crash with a little movement.
