Flaneur Berlin

Live Media, Architecture, Landscape, Live audio/visual
These are some excerpts of a live cinema project as presented live at The Mirror Stage Festival, in Limassol, Cyprus. It's a combination of images and music processed live in order to create a narrative quite different from a script based film.
It takes the city of Berlin, and the changes it has been suffering in the last 15 years, as a character.
CHAPTERS:
Teufelsberg: the old spying base built by the Allies during the Cold War, an abandoned monster with very intense vocal cords
Bauwerk: the reconstruction of the town, the ballet of Catterpillars;
Transports: buses, trains, bycicles, skates, all about a city in the move
People: street musicians, public markets, the daily life of the Berliners (Germans or not), inhabitants of a city in constant change.

The work is signed by FroZen (a.k.a Felipe Frozza, visuals) and Klinid (a.k.a Luigi Vitali, music).

Maren, it's the view of a 3rd world country citizen who comes to a 1st world town and realizes that some processes (such as the gentrification generated by the new architetonic projects) are quite similar in both places. Berlin has been praised as one of the most creative and influential cities of our time, but I'm worried about what it's gonna become in some decades. Anoher sterilized skyscraperd city.

An impressive perspective on "my" city - it is eye-opening to see that Berlin actually shows many aspects of a thirld world country. The smooth and the striaghted sides are pretty close - and you bring them even closer! A strong political voice!
