“Innesti”
“Innesti” is an interactive installation, divided in two phases of exhibition and fruition, in which the spectator’s emotions become fundamental part of the work.
The spectator’s emotions are filmed.
The installation “Innesti” is composed by seven silicon anatomical hearts, that, thanks to sensors and an electric circuit. Reproduce the natural heart beat. Moreover, the seven hearts spread vocal messages of different origin.
In the first phase of the installation, the seven anatomical hearts are placed in public sites:
Streets, gardens, underground, etc. Thanks to a small hidden video camera we can watch the people’s spontaneous reaction.
The hearts can be also installed individually. In the case of an individual installation, as to say when a single heart is installed in the street, there is a small wifi video camera on the heart, which sends signals to a hidden modem.
The modem is connected to projector.
A person coming near the single heart, activates, thanks to an internal sensor system, both the heartbeat, with the vocal message, and the wifi video camera, which catches his or her face.
The spectator immediately sees his or her face projected in a large size on the wall over the heart.
The message of the heart is : you are beautiful …. Your face… I am you.
This massage invites, the people, to look at themselves.
The second phase of the installation is in the art gallery. It is important that the fruition of the work has different wills, the first phase is linked to short circuit in the day life, it is a non choice which invites you to stop.
The second phase of the installation is linked to an aware choice. The spectator goes to an art-oriented place. The spectator knows that he or she will meet something which will stop him or her, there is an aware will to listen.
“Innesti” is installed in a dark room, the hearts enlightened by small led lights, are put on black pillars of different heights. This type of a light gives the perception that the hearts are suspended in the dark.
In front of every heart there are red circles, produced by led lights, which define the following path of the spectator.
The fruition of the installation is individual. Only one spectator at a time can come in. It is important the intimate side of the installation, the spectator must have the time to get lost and to find himself or herself again in sound path.
The total darkness of the room makes the spectators lose their defences, with its consequences, but the natural heartbeat and the vocal messages let the spectators obtain again their proper calm.
The second phase of “innesti” is a private, intimate ritual.
There aren’t any video cameras in the room. Only the spectator will know what he or she will feel in that moment, only the spectator will decide the time for his or her private listening.
