The artwork “alzailculo” (in english: move your ass), created for the 27° Grand Prix Advertising strategies closing gala, is an irreverent and iconoclastic installation focusing on the theme of the unemployment crisis and lack of ideas characterizing our current situation.
It’s a huge wall, with a great human and enviromental impact, made of over 250 cardboard boxes put togheter, on which a stenciled image of a business man in a suit and tie appears and carring a brief case appears. The business man is begging.
As the sign he is holding proclaims, he is hungry for ideas; a hunger that afflicts in an ever increasing way the world of advertising, art and entreprise.
These worlds always oblige finding the right inspiration, even under pression.
An iStock survay about creative professionals has in fact discovered that half of them claim that the level of creativity in theyr organization has not grown or, has even decreased in the last ten years.
Mr. Savethewall’s wall is an inconvenient wall, one wich disturbs, “disordinAzione” (an action that creates disorder), as the contemporary barel wall built in 1962 in rue Visconti in Paris by Christo or like the barrier Equivalent VIII created in 1966 by Carl Andre and formed by 120 fire bricks.
A wall that wants to shake, create a reaction into the public but also insight to action, to dynamism, to industriesness.
Next to the man, actually, the exclamation “Alzailculo” is written because, for the artist, the future of everyone of us, is in our own ands; this as thrue for the creative artit as for the intrepreneur an also for the sardonic character of the gorilla, advertising testimonial who has reached the pic of the Grand Prix Tropy dedicated to brand and advertising success shouting “my future is in my hands” as unique opportunity for the economic and social redemption of creatives and entrepreneurs.
