Nature Cam
This device is a small battery operated 7” camera designed in the drip style of Jackson Pollock (the painter that declared himself to be nature), equipped with motion sensor and a flashing LED bulb; as viewers come within a couple of metres of the device the sensor is set off and the camera starts to pan from side to side for approximately 14 seconds. The work is in a sense unfinished as theoretically the cameras can be purchased and installed (like a master painting perhaps) in the garden or different outdoor settings, in which the “Nature Cam” can continue to provoke response. The two cameras can be installed on a shelf or plinth or attached directly onto a gallery wall.
