ISTRUZIONI OVUNQUE (Progetto Dante Alighieri)
DANTE ALIGHIERI PROJECT
The DANTE ALIGHIERI project was born from the union / collision between a trip to the Vatican Museums, the reading of the book “Inferno “(Dan Brown) and the physiognomic study of the face suggested me by Ivan Quaroni in Milan.
After taking pictures, with great pleasure, to the sculptures of Hadrian , Neptune, Jupiter and Claudius in Rome, I tried to identify what could be the most exciting tuscany face for me. Through a series of coincidences and synchronicities , the choice fell down on Dante Alighieri’s face.
So that I started a series of peregrinations searching the best shots of the sculptures of this famous florentine personage in this tuscany city.
Starting from Santa Croce place, with Henry Pazzi ‘s sculpture made in1865 , through pictures and sculptures at the Museo della Casa di Dante , his death mask and analyzing paintings by various authors , especially Sandro Botticelli. I realize a series of preliminary sketches that had as a priority the emphasis and analysis of some features of Dante’s face where everyone who look at this could find somethings of himselfs.
The colours of the sky inspired all the chromatics variations of the collection except for the red canvas . The blue sapphire represents the water (matter ), the red symbolizes fire (spirit) as evidence and reminding the work of the human spirit over the matter.
The phisiognomy and the proportions of the face emphasize the strong link
that exist between the morphology of the face and the movements of the soul. Body and spirt are not separated but are two differents aspects of the same person, there is a correspondence between humans (microcosm) and universe (macrocosm).

1 LUNGIMIRANZA AUTORITARIA
The aquiline shape’s nose is typical of people who have power and are aggressive. They are far-sighted and have authoritarian ways. The long nose means a deep thirst for knowledge. People with this kind of nose want to dominate and give orders, they are active, cold, aggressive and wants to be respected.
2 ATTENZIONE ORGANIZZATA
The lower area of the forehead indicates the ability to observe and be able to see things in a objectively way. Here we can find the faculties of calculation and construction, passion for the shapes, painting, music and the natural sciences. This development of the forehead (convex) indicates love for order and organization. These people are driven by cold objective reason, they love to watch, classify and describe.

7 CONCRETA DETERMINAZIONE
Squared faces denotes a concrete, courageous and practice personality with a big leadership. The subject knows what he wants, can well identifies the ways to achieve the objectives and realise them with determination. A square jaw indicates strength and firmness of character.
8 DINAMICA SENSIBILITA'
The nose’s tip pointing down indicates a very sensitive and nervous person with a mutable mind. Big nostrils are synonymous of an open, dynamic and courageos personality.
9 ROMANTICA INFELICITA'
A mouth with down folded corners reveals a miserable sad character, jealous and opportunistic. Dante’s mouth as well as in the sculptures and paintings indicate that he was a romantic dreamer, his swollen lips reveals intuitive abilities.
10 SOLITUDINE ARTISTICA
Bulging and round eyes are synonymous of artistic talent and careful observation. Sunken eyes belongs to those who are internally focused, introverted, solitary, shy and reserved. They are more dedicated to their inner and mental world than external activities and attitude for others.
