The Pearl 3
Kino separated the fleshy oyster shells and there it was, the pure wonder, the true miracle, the great pearl, perfect as the moon and bright as the sun. It absorbed light, purifying it and it filtered light, thinning it, in order to refract its glow in silver and gold iridescence. It was as big as a gull's egg. It was the largest pearl in the world.
