Una sposa in macelleria. Ritratto ufficiale.
A reflection on the new technologies side effects that brought the most intimate and private moments to the public audience of the social networks, that push toward the transformation and disguise in order to impress our virtual followers, representing ourselves in a fake way through fantastic and invented stories, far away from our everyday simple life.
This represent the desire of making ourselves and our activities look important, put out there our disguised life, maybe in reality empty and frustrating, which pushes us to play a role that doesn’t correspond to our own self, but let us appear and be seen. Even while we are occupied in our every day’s duties, shopping at the supermarket, at the butcher or doing our laundry, we are all worried about being dressed up and have our make up on so that we can appear in front of our virtual audience, that is (maybe) waiting for the next “Selfie” of an infinite –exhausting- series.
A new daily Pornography that doesn’t exist outside of the surface of our smartphone, that feeds itself and grows in the restless waiting for shares, comments or “Likes”.
Maybe a new social-paranormal phenomenon is born?
