Croquis Grotesque - My Private Theatre
Do we stage our portraits, or what?
My work as an artist and photographer is mainly concentrated on Staged Photography-methods and I find that my portraits are staged, too, and expressions and face values are mostly chosen.
You see me here producing images in different ways – for me it is all together portraits my way.
I’m a slow photographer, and one fine piece of work in a week is not bad. It’s a mind-blowing work to evolve fantasies and ideas, incorporate them in a plan, sometimes even a storyboard, finding and bringing people, my actors, together and keep them activated and engaged in visualizing the given project.
This group must unfold the individual talents without pressure, discover the players’ passions, insights and often opposed angles, really a Zen method except for at lot of noise, musik, laughter and talking.
Sometimes I want to do some quiet work just for me – if this Staged Photography is going more or less to turn my studio in a permanent meeting place, I must find new ways myself.
As I am writing this I have given up my studio and will in the future use other accommodations.
