Bored Identity

Bored Identity

Digital Photography, Freedom, Portrait, Portrait, Portrait, Mixed technique, 30x40cm
A pen begins to draw lines apparently disordered. Gestures full of useless wealth that give way to a neurotic freedom. That's what boredom. The desire, not understood, to feel free.
Alienated from society and unable to live peacefully, the bored-man is not able to take possession of any reality and uses childish gestures distracting, to escape the indifference.
His intentions are the result of any different reaction from his apathy, to verify its existence.
Boredom invites us to resign because any struggle to dominate the real is demeaning and without solution. That remains is to passively accept its thousand facets.
Boredom acts to deform and break the relationship with reality, with things, with ourselves.
It is a modern disease: a state of despair, alienation, depersonalization.
When the man, stripped of every occupation, began to listen in himself, he hears nothing but the void: the echo of that void is boredom.
