My works are substantially the materialization of
epic battle between digital and analog . The love
photography in a broad sense , the historical memory of the passion fordarkroom blend with the speed of the digital medium , withpracticality and the immense possibilities of the development of photography that offer programs of digital image processing . All this at a time in history when "digital" acquires new meanings . The endless production of images with the help of social networks, has brought the photograph , the real , to remain at an early stage non- emotional favoring an immaterial production . In essence, the numerical picture quality suffers from the lack of tactile and visual quality . Do not get excited it has become a habit , and to excite a difficult undertaking . This led me to try , with pictures, a carnal relationship , made of tactile sensitivity.
The processes antique print , not only objects but produce images full of their physical substance. Hold a press born chemically involves several senses, not just sight. So it is no coincidence that the resurgence of ancient processes coincides with the rise of digital photography, to recover those feelings that the new electronic technologies have stolen .
Starting from digital shots , I turned my images in
negative images , adjusting visual quality , contrast,
light, and everything that could be done when working an image digitally with Photoshop. I then printed on sheets acetates images: here are my digital negatives of great format that can be used in the darkroom to print images in contact . I then melted the practicality of the new medium with the
the old manual method , and so I reached full
control of my files being printed , only flaw of the new technology .
Gum bichromate : it is based printing colloid , which has the characteristic to harden and become partially insoluble when mixed with water and exposed to a dichromate radiation. The paper was treated with Primal AC 33 , sensitized with a solution of chrome and arabic rubber colored with black tempera paint . After the exposure is spread
in water, where the prints they strip the remaining parts soluble .
The prints show white black .
