Fundamental

The first of my 'religious' paintings, this depicts the mass conversion strategy of the most extreme churches. Care home residents and the mentally unstable sit in the stalls as the preacher roars and healing hands are raised. This is a caricature of the jaded , ageing congregations turning towards spiritualism, with it's occult allure. The figure's hands are painted oversized and imagined statues flank the ceiling, including one of a forced Baptism
