Defunct Childhood Gas Station

Defunct Childhood Gas Station

Painting, Beauty, Architecture, Abstract informal, Still life, Landscape, Mixed technique, 51x41x3.9cm
I used to go to this gas station with my dad when I was a child. I was surprised to see that it had finally closed after all these years. An opening in the fence allowed me to explore, take photographs, and pick up reminders of this vanished business. In retrospect, it was a dangerous thing to do - the back area was totally secluded from the busy street and if something had happened to me, nobody would have known.
