My Elusive Boy
Leo's main issues are around communication and interaction. It is sometimes hard for me as his father to understand his needs, both emotional and physical and he is often withdrawn and seperate from his family and friends.
This series of photos, of which these are just the beginning, is an attempt by me to enter his world on his terms. To learn through observation and proximity. I hope that by doing this I will find a new avenue, a new route of access to the heart and soul of my elusive boy. As he grows, I hope he will become involved in the project with me and we can discover together.
All shots have been taken with an iphone. It is this new world of instant image gratification that has allowed me to pursue this project in earnest. My camera phone is never out of my pocket, always in reach and forever accessible. If a moment surfaces from the fog of daily life, modern media allows me to capture that moment, process and distribute it as I wish. This will be the journal of our voyage together, the modern portrait as a record, a mediator and a union.
