Drifty Dreamer is one of my abstraction twins. She was born on old drywall that was going to be thrown away. When I saw the shape of the dry wall sheets I was compelled to use them in my series: Make Art Matter. The twins I knew would turn in to beautiful twin flame art. I painted them together side by side; with oil, acrylic, glitter. They’ve never been a part in any showing unfortunately since I moved to Miami, Fl. I haven’t been able to put them up in any exhibits. Right now they reside in my brother’s closet back home in California. My dream is to find the twins a permanent home where they can do what they love to do that is be seen, and appreciated by the human eye. They were once old, unwanted pieces of drywall a staple for our society’s waste habit. They were construction left over yet deep inside lived a beautiful story, a story about how we can start using our imaginations to reuse, reduce and creatively recycle what isn’t wanted. Isn’t that the true meaning of expression?
