The works on display are drawn from the figures in low relief inserted in square frames or in small niches that decorate the main entrance of the Cathedral of Ferrara and are inserted into the sloping pillars that create the splay of the main entrance. The themes of these sculptures are reproduced from Bestiaria medieval, which is a collection of real or imaginary animals that symbolize the virtues and vices or Erbaria whose symbolic value is not always a certain interpretation.
The title of the exhibition refers to the small imagination of a time now far away, but always fascinating because it is our past, when the events of life and history were marked by beliefs fanciful and imaginative.
