An epic of humanity is a research project on historical memory. In this project I use the oral testimony of exiles from the civil war to build an installation, consisting of a mountain of paper with natural roots, on which roads made of experiences are drawn and lost, roads of hope for a better future. The notion of fragility that conveys the paper is reinforced by wavering lines of testimonies that evoke the paths taken by the exiles when fleeing. These memories are hard to read and many words are lost due to paper wrinkles, this links with memory’s nature, inaccurate, personal, somehow secret, but lived deep into the bowels
