Fort Rock is old, but fresh. It is a classic Western rock fortress rising from a huge high desert plain. While I have photographed this grand geological wonder on many days and many angles, I like this image the most for the wonderful clouds. I set up my Hasselblad EL/M camera with an 50mm lens and exposed Fuji Acros. Stand development was used to bring out the subtle tones in the clouds. To me, space and quiet are precious commodities we continually violate. Here, there is a Zen and serenity that is unique. I hope you find that I’ve captured this image with the same clarity.
