Cocos Ridge in a Book

Karen Vermeren visited the very active fault line Cocos Ridge where the Pacific tectonic Plate and the Caribbean Plate collide. She related the volcanoes of Nicaragua to windows with a view on the landscape.
The book is used as an exhibition space (9 x 13 cm, acrylic on plastic). Transparent pages are shaping space. They function as sequels and open up windows to the insides of the volcanic ridge and the slow process of a fault line. By turning pages the cyclic changes of the earth in time become visual.
