It is composed by multiple contrasts: between the materials (wood and iron), between their textures (smooth and cool the slabs, uneven and rough the trunk), between the colours (black and white), between the apparent rupture of the wood and the strength of the iron which holds it together.
Nevertheless, everything is where it should be and the composition seems to seek his own silent harmony.
There is no symbolism.
The work is not meant to be explained or interpreted.
It is just as it has to be.
