In this painting Karen Vermeren represents the caves of Foissac in France. Different concretions, stalagmites and stalactites are painted with acrylic and tape on plastic on the wall and the floor. If noticing how works change depending on the chosen viewpoint, visitors can be enticed to explore the work of Vermeren as well as the venue from different angles and experience the rendering of an absent landscape - ‘a sense of place’ - while remarking the ‘here and now’ in their present surrounding.
