Isla Ometepe

Isla Ometepe

Painting, Nature, Architecture, Landscape, Acrylic, 200x300cm
By taking away the brewing vats in Brass, craters are left. Karen Vermeren placed the negative space of the Island Ometepe (‘two hills’) from Nicaragua in the floating circle. Two different volcanoes create the island. They are painted on several layers of plastic, placed in front of the windows. They cover the silhouettes of the outside buildings. She made a contrast with blue lines shaping the traffic in the view. http://www.celesteprize.com/portfolios/idu:67095/idc:3643/
